                        INSO is looking for a Deputy Safety Advisors for its North team!INSO is an international non-governmental and non-profit organisation. Our mission is to support the humanitarian community with information, analysis and advice that enhances situational awareness, supports decision-making, strengthens operational practice and enables humanitarian access.Location: Gaziantep, TurkeyScope of the PositionUnder the supervision of the Safety Advisor (SA), the successful candidate will be focused on monitoring safety and security related incidents for Northern Syria. He/she will be focused on data management and verification, but will also work extensively on context analysis. As part of a young and dynamic team, he/she will be working with one of the leading humanitarian security and safety NGO on the Syria crisis and be trained on information analysis by the SA.Key ObjectivesAssist in the collection of security information:Receive, review and confirm safety and security incidents reports on a daily basisMonitor international and local media, social media and networksDevelop and maintain personal and professional contacts throughout Northern SyriaReview the quality of the received information and conduct information triangulationAssist the Safety Advisor in the delivery of INSO Services: Register on a daily basis verified incidents and input them in a Excel databasePrepare drafts of security reports/ assessments and contribute to context analysisPrepare security briefings and develop an in-depth understanding of conflict dynamics in SyriaQualificationsPerfect written and spoken Arabic; solid written and spoken English (Required);Familiarity with the geography and history of Northern Syria (Required);Interest in security/conflict analysis and monitoring (Required);Familiarity with MS Office Suite, especially Excel (Required);Solid understanding of the humanitarian, political/ security context in Eastern/Southern Syria (Preferred);Experience working with NGOs and/or international organisations inside Syria (Preferred);Experience with security analysis and monitoring on Syria and the Middle East (Preferred);Academic background at B.A. level, preferably in history or related field (Preferred);Candidates are expected to possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be motivated to work in the field of humanitarian access and security analysis.
